What it Means to Live Well

What to expect at
Safe Harbor House

If you are thinking about staying with us at Safe Harbor House and it’s possible, we encourage you to take a tour of the house.

Call our house manager to discuss your situation and arrange a visit. If you are unable to see the house because you’re in another state or too far away, we are happy to answer any questions or even do a video call to help you envision living here.

If you decide to join us, upon arrival you will have a conversation with our house manager who will review your history, house rules and other information necessary to ensure a successful stay.  A drug test will also be required at this point.

Once you are settled and have met the other residents, you will have a meeting with our recovery coach who will help sketch out short and mid-term goals.

Attendance at AA meetings is a cornerstone of our approach. You will be required to attend at least five meetings a week plus a weekly house meeting. Transportation will be provided. There will be a regular meeting the house attends everyday. Three excellent meetings (Tuesday, Friday and Sunday evenings) are only a three block walk from the house. Tuesday is a women’s meeting.

Our housecleaner will come weekly and take care of kitchens, bathrooms and laundry rooms. Residents will still be required to clean up after meals, any use of common areas and to keep bathrooms and their bedrooms tidy. Laundry and linens will be residents responsibility.
